‘Stop The Cops’ Unity March From Bronx To Harlem Where: 138th St. Madison Ave Bridge (Bronx) When: Saturday, February 23, 2013 @ 1pm Stop the Cops: … from frisking and brutalizing our youth! … from targeting immigrant and Muslim communities! … from harassing women and LGBTQ people! Stop-and-Frisk won’t stop crime—It is the crime! Jobs, Not Jails! Shut Down Rikers! Sean Bell, Ramarley Graham, Amadou Diallo. These are just a few names in the long list of victims of police brutality. On February 23, we fight back. We will have a Unity March from the Bronx to Harlem, to say ‘No!’ to the NYPD. Instead of constant harassment and brutalty, it is time for our communities to get organized and reclaim our blocks! Racist profiling has become the norm in “stop and frisk” policies that target poor Black and Latino neighborhoods. Muslim, Middle Eastern and South Asian communities have been targeted and stereotyped as “terrorist” threats.
